Accra, Ghana — May 2026: The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Jeoun VIP Transport Services, Mr Yaw Amponsah Marfo, popularly known as Agya Wiase, has donated GH¢1 million towards the Burma Camp Redevelopment Project.
The donation was presented during a courtesy call on the Chief of the Defence Staff (CDS), Lieutenant General William Agyapong, on Friday, 8 May 2026, at the General Headquarters of the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF), Burma Camp.
Supporting improved accommodation for military personnel
Mr Amponsah Marfo said his contribution was motivated by a strong sense of patriotism and appreciation for the sacrifices made by personnel of the Ghana Armed Forces in the service of the nation.
He also encouraged other private-sector leaders and businesses to support the redevelopment initiative and contribute towards improving accommodation and living conditions for military personnel.
Receiving the donation on behalf of the Ghana Armed Forces, Lt Gen William Agyapong expressed appreciation to Mr Marfo for his contribution to the project.
The CDS said the donation would contribute to efforts to provide decent and improved accommodation for military personnel, and assured the donor that the funds would be applied transparently and efficiently towards the redevelopment project.
Addressing Ghana's military accommodation deficit
The Burma Camp Redevelopment Project is an initiative of the Ghana Armed Forces aimed at addressing the longstanding accommodation deficit facing military personnel.
The project forms part of broader efforts to improve infrastructure and welfare within the Ghana Armed Forces, particularly the provision of suitable residential facilities for personnel.
