Accra, Ghana | 1 November 2026

Omanbapa Deftech Ltd has achieved a significant milestone in its development as a Ghanaian technology and cybersecurity solutions provider following the issuance of a Tier 1 Managed Cybersecurity Services (MCS) licence by the Cyber Security Authority (CSA) of Ghana.

The certification, issued on 26 October 2026 under the Cybersecurity Act, 2020 (Act 1038), recognises Omanbapa Deftech Ltd's qualification to provide Tier 1 Managed Cybersecurity Services within Ghana's regulated cybersecurity industry.

The development marks an important step in the company's commitment to supporting the protection of Ghana's digital infrastructure, strengthening institutional cyber resilience and delivering advanced information security solutions to public and private sector organisations.

A Significant Regulatory Milestone

The licence, bearing certificate number CSA/492/IT-1/223-57660, places Omanbapa Deftech Ltd within the Tier 1 category for Managed Cybersecurity Services.

This regulatory recognition is particularly significant given the growing importance of cybersecurity in Ghana's financial services, telecommunications, energy, government, transportation and other critical sectors.

Under the terms of the  licence, Omanbapa Deftech Ltd is authorised to provide Managed Cybersecurity Services to Critical Information Infrastructure (CII) owners, government institutions and other institutions or persons, subject to the applicable regulatory requirements.

Ghana has identified thirteen (13) Critical Information Infrastructure sectors whose protection is essential to national security, economic stability and the continuous delivery of essential services. The certification positions the company to pursue opportunities to support organisations operating within these critical sectors.

Strengthening Ghana's Cybersecurity Landscape

As organisations increasingly depend on interconnected digital platforms, cloud infrastructure, enterprise applications and electronic communications, the risks associated with cyberattacks, data breaches, ransomware and other forms of digital threats continue to grow.

Omanbapa Deftech Ltd seeks to contribute to addressing these challenges through the provision of professional cybersecurity services, technology integration and digital infrastructure solutions.

Its strategic direction includes supporting organisations in strengthening their security operations, improving threat detection and response capabilities, protecting sensitive information and building resilient technology environments.

The company intends to leverage its technology partnerships, technical expertise and integrated systems capabilities to deliver solutions aligned with the evolving cybersecurity requirements of Ghanaian institutions.

A Strategic Partnership with Global Technology Capabilities

Omanbapa Deftech Ltd's broader technology strategy is strengthened by its relationship with CETC International Co., Ltd., an international technology and engineering partner within China's CETC Group.

CETC Group is a large-scale state-owned technology group directly managed by the Chinese central government. Its extensive technology ecosystem includes more than 400 enterprises and institutions, 46 national research institutes, 10 public companies, over 220,000 employees and 30 national key laboratories, research centres and innovation centres.

The group's capabilities span the information technology industry chain, including materials and components, integrated circuits, information platforms, equipment, systems integration, operations and maintenance.

Through this relationship, Omanbapa Deftech Ltd aims to connect the technology requirements of governments, public institutions and enterprises across Ghana and West Africa with relevant international engineering capabilities and technology solutions.

This strategic positioning provides a foundation for exploring integrated cybersecurity, digital infrastructure, network security and other technology-driven solutions.

Regulatory Compliance and Professional Standards

The Cyber Security Authority's licensing framework is established under the Cybersecurity Act, 2020 (Act 1038), which provides the regulatory foundation for cybersecurity service providers, establishments and professionals in Ghana.

Omanbapa Deftech Ltd recognises that regulatory compliance, professional competence, operational accountability and continuous improvement are essential to building confidence in the cybersecurity industry.

Looking Ahead

The Tier 1 provisional certification represents an important foundation for Omanbapa Deftech Ltd's ambition to become a significant contributor to Ghana's cybersecurity and digital infrastructure ecosystem.

The company remains focused on developing its technical capabilities, strengthening strategic partnerships and engaging institutions seeking reliable cybersecurity and technology solutions.

As Ghana continues to advance its digital transformation agenda, Omanbapa Deftech Ltd intends to play a constructive role in supporting a more secure, resilient and technologically capable national environment.
