Pre-Export Verification of Conformity explained: Verify vehicle condition and compliance before international shipping.
Series: PVoC Explained
Day 4 of 45 | Countdown: 41 Days to 1 October 2026
PVoC means Pre-Export Verification of Conformity. The principle is simple: Verify conformity before the vehicle is exported to Ghana.
Instead of waiting until a vehicle has arrived at a Ghanaian port before discovering a compliance problem, the vehicle is assessed in the exporting country against applicable requirements.
The process generally involves:
Application → Documentation → Inspection → Verification → Certification
Where a vehicle satisfies the applicable requirements, the appropriate conformity documentation can be issued.
The practical benefit is obvious. An importer gets information about compliance before the vehicle begins its journey to Ghana.
PVoC changes the mindset from: “Ship first, solve problems later” to: “Verify first, then ship.”
