Offinso North Secures 25 Acres for Major Agro-Organic Manufacturing Project

Offinso North District Assembly has earmarked 25 acres of land for Omanbapa AgriTech's proposed Agro-Organic Blending Plant, paving the way for investment in bio-fertilisers, organic pesticides, precision agriculture and job creation in Ghana.

Ashanti Region, Ghana | 3 August 2026

The Offinso North District Assembly has taken a decisive step towards attracting large-scale agro-industrial investment after agreeing to earmark 25 acres of land for an Agro-Organic Blending Plant proposed by Omanbapa AgriTech Ltd.

The decision was reached during a strategic meeting involving senior officials of the District Assembly, executives of Omanbapa AgriTech Ltd and representatives of GCB Bank PLC (Ashanti & Bono Regions).

The proposed investment is expected to position Offinso North as an emerging hub for organic agricultural inputs and modern farming technologies in Ghana.

A Boost for Ghana's Agro-Industrial Agenda

The project aligns with Ghana's broader objective of promoting value addition, improving agricultural productivity and encouraging private-sector-led industrialisation.

According to project details previously submitted by Omanbapa AgriTech to the Assembly, the investment forms part of a larger national Agro-Organic Programme being implemented in collaboration with the Ministry of Food and Agriculture.

The proposed facility will support production and distribution of:

  1. Organic bio-fertilisers
  2. Bio-pesticides
  3. Soil enhancement products
  4. Precision agriculture technologies
  5. Farm machinery solutions

Industry observers believe such investments could significantly reduce Ghana's dependence on imported agricultural inputs while supporting local manufacturing.

Economic Impact

The establishment of the blending plant is expected to generate multiple economic benefits, including:

  1. Direct and indirect employment
  2. Increased demand for local agricultural produce
  3. New opportunities for transport and logistics businesses
  4. Skills development for young professionals
  5. Technology transfer to farmers
  6. Increased private investment into the district

The project also has the potential to strengthen Ghana's transition toward climate-smart agriculture through environmentally friendly production methods.

Financial Institutions Join the Conversation

The presence of GCB Bank PLC at the meeting highlights growing interest from Ghana's financial sector in supporting commercially viable agribusiness projects.

Access to finance remains one of the biggest challenges facing agro-processing investments, making early engagement between developers and financial institutions an important element of project success.

A Positive Signal for Investors

For investors monitoring Ghana's agriculture and manufacturing sectors, the Assembly's decision to reserve land demonstrates increasing collaboration between local authorities and private investors.

Land availability often represents one of the biggest hurdles for industrial development and the commitment by the Offinso North District Assembly significantly advances the project's implementation pathway.

Looking Ahead

The project is expected to proceed through technical planning, regulatory approvals, financing arrangements and detailed engineering before construction commences.

If successfully delivered, the Offinso North Agro-Organic Blending Plant could become one of the Ashanti Region's flagship agro-industrial investments, supporting sustainable agriculture, creating jobs and strengthening Ghana's food production ecosystem.
